As for the episode itself, even though Akari still doesn't believe that Takeru is well, a ghost, she still insist that there is a scientific explanation and insist that they should see a doctor... which is stupid if you ask me. I mean, what is the point of having Takeru checked if he is alive if he is dead in the first place? As for Onari, he is so enthusiastic in helping Takeru to the point that the monk training he assigns to his underlings is basically them searching for strange occurrences in the neighborhood. In short, this is how we will get the monster of the week stuff.
Now to the important stuff, the victim for this episode, this episode establishes how we will get one. To be honest, it reminded me of every single monster of the arc plot in most Heisei Kamen Rider shows from Kamen Rider Den-O-onwards. To give you a refresher, it's basically, guy offers some guy something in exchange for power, some guy gets power, he enjoys it and later regrets it, and good guy saves the day. Unlike the standard victim of the arc plots, much to my surprise, this one only lasted for one episode and that's a good thing.
Back to Kamen Rider Ghost, since the episode focuses on the Edison Ghost Eyecon, the victim of the week is of course, a guy who wants to become Edison and will do anything just to be on par with his idol. Considering that he is now on par with Edison when it comes to the jerk department, at least he got one nailed perfectly. Because he is a struggling scientist, he needs inspiration to finish his teleportation device; this is when the Ganma comes in to give him said inspiration.
Takeru's fight with the Ganma in this episode explored more on the aspect of Ghost fighting ghosts. What I love about the scene is Takeru's transformation sequence, when Takeru transforms into Ghost, he disappears like a ghost just to fight the Ganma. It adds more depth to this invisible war, especially that part where Ghost fights the Ganma in a playground. I love that scene because the kids are unaware on what's going on in the background. So when the Ganma attacked one of the kids, Ghost saves the kid without the kid knowing what's going on.
Even if we have this scene, Akari still doesn't believe that he is a ghost, the only thing she believes is Takeru. It sounds conflicting, but when you think about it, it's the first sign that Akari is willing to throw away any logic in the world because she cares for her friend. With a renewed determination, Takeru is now more determined to collect all 15 heroic Ghost Eyecons, save his life, and fight the Ganma. The next day, the scientist is successful in creating his teleportation device, but as it turns out, it only created a Ganma Hole, a portal that will summon Ganma!
With the help of the Captain Ghost combining with Ghost's bike, they were able to stop the giant Ganma. The only thing that is left is closing the giant eye. As it turns out, Ghost can do it by pulling the lever 4 types, unleashing an Optic Orb attack. Now that the eye is closed, it is time for the final fight with the Ganma as Kamen Rider Ghost Edison Damashii! Ghost Edison Damashii's debut is really cool. The form being electric based makes a lot of sense and that includes its ability to absorb lightning attacks. As for the finisher, it's pretty standard stuff like the kick and the slash.
