This isn't the first time Kakegurui got a live-action adaptation as the manga was adapted into a two-season TV series and two movies in Japan, which primarily starred Minami Hamabe (Shin Kamen Rider, Godzilla Minus One), Mahiro Takasugi (Kamen Rider Gaim), and Aoi Morikawa (Prison School) as Yumeko Jabami, Ryota Suzui, and Mary Saotome respectively. Morikawa later reprised her role as Mary Saotome in the Kakegurui Twin spin-off series.
