The official Haruhi Suzumiya light novel Twitter account announced that they will launch a new crowdfunding campaign for a new song, which is also accompanied with a new music video.
The campaign, which will run on the Campfire website from November 15 to December 15 has a goal to raise 10 million yen (about US$65,000). If said goal is reached, the new song will feature Haruhi, Mikuru, and Nagato in said music video and will feature a 3D model of Haruhi dancing. If the campaign reaches 15 million yen (about US$98,000), the video will also add the 3D models of Mikuru and Nagato. The new song will be made by the same team behind the anime's iconic "Hare Hare Yukai" ending song, namely composer Tomokazu Tashiro and lyricist Aki Hata.
In addition, the backer reward for this project is a new original voice drama starring the SOS Brigade cast members with their respective voice actors, namely: Aya Hirano, Tomokazu Sugita, Minori Chihara, Yuko Goto, and Daisuke Ono all reprising their roles as Haruhi Suzumiya, Kyon, Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi respectively.
The new music video is planned to be released in the first half of 2025, while the backer rewards are set for an early February 2025 release, and the digital backer rewards are set for the latter half of 2025.
