Toho has launched a new website in which fans can vote the new monster Godzilla will face in an upcoming production!
This project, titled "New Monster General Election" is born from the desire to create a brand new monster that will make its mark in monster history, and it is up to us to bring this new monster to life. In this election, fans get to choose from a total of eight new monster designs and the winning monster design will appear in the new "Fest Godzilla" tokusatsu production, which will debut at Godzilla Fest 2027 or later. This new monster is designed by Shirogumi, the same company that worked on Godzilla Minus One and its sequel, Godzilla Minus Zero.
Voting for this new monster will be in phases. Phase 01 will happen on September 16th to October 4th, in which we get to choose the top 4 designs. Winners will be announced around mid-October. The day after the midterm presentation to October 25th is Phase 02 of voting, and the winner will be announced on November 3rd at Godzilla Fest 2026.
