It was announced that Shuzo Oshimi's Inside Mari manga is getting is a live-action drama adaptation.
The series will star Elaiza Ikeda (live-action Wolf Girl & Black Prince) as Mari Yoshizaki, Ryo Yoshizawa (Kamen Rider Fourze as Isao Komori, and Yuri Nakamura (Mori no Asagao) as Mari's classmate, Yori Kakiguchi. Also starring in the drama are: Kengo Nishioka, Yuuichi Yasoda (Japanese Salaryman NEO), and Naomi Nishida (Godzilla 2000).
Based on the manga of the same name, it follows an "angel-like" beautiful high school girl with a secret that she's hiding from everyone, and an idle shut-in young man, and the highlight of his day is seeing Mari at the convenience story. The story begins as Mari wakes up in her room, but there is something weird about the room and her body.
The series is directed by Sumisu (NMB48, Dempagumi.inc music videos) with Hatsuki Yokoo and Hiroto Totsuka, written by Yuko Shimoda, and Shiggy Jr. performing the show's theme song. This eight-episode drama series will stream on Fuji TV On Demand starting on March 31st.
