Dragonball Evolution Writer Apologizes to Fans

The screenwriter of the critically panned Dragonball Evolution film Ben Ramsey apologized to fans via The Dao of Dragon Ball's Derek Padula.

In the letter, he revealed that the film marked a very painful creative point in his life. He received a lot of hate mail all over world, which he finds heartbreaking. At first, he tried to deflect the blame, but at the end of the day, he took full responsibility on what he wrote, which disappointed a lot of fans. 

He also revealed that the reason why he took the project is because of the big pay, and admits that he is not a fan of the series. He then states, "I have learned that when you go into a creative endeavor without passion you come out with sub-optimal results, and sometimes flat out garbage. So I'm not blaming anyone for 'Dragonball' but myself. As a fanboy of other series, I know what it’s like to have something you love and anticipate be so disappointing."

To give you a refresher, Dragonball Evolution is a live-action film based on Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball anime/manga series that premiered back in 2009. The reason why fans hated as the film deviates from the original source material.
