Kodansha Comics announced at this year's Emerald City Comicon that they will release a 35th anniversary box set of the Akira manga.
Described as "the ultimate, definitive English edition" and it collects all six volumes of Katsuhiro Otomo's classic manga series in large-format hardcovers. This edition also includes the Akira Club art book, which includes Otomo's title page illustrations from the original serialization, preliminary drawings, alternate art, commentary, and more.
Lastly, and the most important part is the fact that this is the first time the English edition of the Akira manga will be published in its original right-to-left format, with unaltered original art and Japanese sound effects.
